Le Château de Thoiry
Built in 1559 by Philibert de l'Orme, the château
belongs to the same family for 16 generations.
The Viscount de la Panouse and his family welcome visitors
to share the very special characteristics, among them,
the Winter and the Summer solstices:
the château was built on a hill, dominating the valleys
and specially oriented to enjoy the rising Sun in Summer
and the sunset in Winter, from the park, through the
windows of the salons at the ground floor.
The passion for esoterism of the architect,
his vast culture and perfect knowledge of sciences allowed
him to build this family château within elegant arithmetic
and geometric proportions providing a sense of balance and harmony.
The wedding ceremony is officiated in the chapel of the
château and the reception in the main dinning room,
which has a capacity of 25 guests. Original furniture,
silver candelabras and the table setting of the château
are used to contribute to the romantic glamour of a
traditional aristocratic reception.
